Studywiz Assessment Classification is a tagging system that allows you to categorise Assessments and Assessment Templates. Assessment Classification can be managed by Administrators or by Teachers if the setting is enabled for the teacher’s role. Well thought out assessment classification helps other users find assessments to meet their needs.
Assessment Classification is optional. It does not need to be used for the Assessment module to work. |
Assessments are classified according a set of ‘Descriptors’ and each Descriptor has ‘Values’. On a newly set up deployment, there are no Descriptors or Values. You can add as many Descriptors and Values as you require to classify your school’s Assessments.
Descriptors created will be available to every Assessment and Assessment template created in the system. |
Tagged Assessments allow users to filter for Assessments and Assessment Templates that fit their needs.
An Assessment Classification commonly used is ‘Assessment Type’, with values ‘Formative’ and ‘Summative’. Other common Classifications are for ‘Purpose’ and ‘Faculty’.
The Assessment creation and editing interface has an Assessment Classification section. Using Assessment Classification, users can tag their Assessments and Assessment Templates to make them easier to manage:
When searching for templates, Classifications can be used to filter for particular Assessment types:
