Create a Parent Account

Follow this procedure to add a new Parent to the Class that contains the Students with which they are associated.

1.       On the Studywiz bar click User Management and then Parents. The Parents page appears.

2.       Expand the School that contains the Student(s) with which the Parents are to be associated. The list of Classes in the School appears.

3.       Expand the relevant Class. The Student list appears.

4.       Adjacent to the Student whose Parent you are adding click the add parent button. The New Parent panel appears.

5.       Fill in the following fields:

•           First Name

•           Last Name

•           User Name

•           Password

•           Password Confirmation

•           E-Mail.

Do not change the External ID field.

6.       From the Authentication Type drop-down list select default.

Studywiz can authenticate users against LDAP, Active Directory or other authentication servers. To authenticate the user according to the default setting for the user type, select default. To authenticate the user against the Studywiz database select internal database.

7.       In the User Group Memberships area, from the unselected list, select the Groups with which the Parent will be associated in Studywiz.

8.       Click the Add Selected  button. The Groups are added to the selected list.

9.       From the Default Interface drop-down list select the default interface (either standard or primary) for the Parent.

10.     In the remaining fields enter the Parent’s information.

11.     Click the Apply button. The Manage Parent’s Students button appears and the Photo upload feature is activated.

12.     If you want to upload a photo of the Parent, click the Upload Photo button and upload a photo.

13.     Click Apply. The ‘Saved’ notification appears.
